| This shipyard welder has a vision! Steve Appel have been in the arts most of his adult life. But in the 90's he became interested in metal, especially nuts and bolts and how they could be welded to form the human body. One of his first pieces was a pool table which he gave as a gift. Then friends and customers wanted more and more complicated pieces. His biggest challenge to date was when he was asked to create a rollercoaster for a man who was retiring from a theme park in Florida. It took 5 months to develop but became his piece of a life time. This is what Steve strives for in his work… to make people happy. The Nuts and Bolt Figures sold at Studio 2600 are 5-6 inches high, sitting on a 3”x3” metal base, depicting all aspects of life, professions, sports, musicians, and recreation. These Bolt People Designs are made in Prescott, AZ.
