Diane Dunaway, the creator of Studio 2600 grew up in Dallas, TX. She attended the University of Arizona and George Washington University in Washington DC while working for Congressman Ron Paul. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in finance and international business. She worked for many years in Houston marketing computers, software education and led business development for several oil and gas related internet companies.
Diane has had a continuing interest in art and has participated in acrylic painting, mosaic and ceramic work along with quilting for many years. Her painting style and interests in trompe l’oeil* and mosaic design further heightened when she began renovating homes upon her return to Dallas. Using these techniques in home redesign generated interest by local publications in the recent past, which is a testament to Diane’s love for international culture, art, and business.
Diane’s creation of Studio 2600, originally in the historic Uptown Dallas area, showcases a variety of emerging and established artists, primarily from Texas and the Dallas area. Her goal was to provide these artists a venue to present their work to a public audience when no other might be available. She is active with the Uptown Dallas Marketing Committee of the Uptown Public Improvement District. She founded the Park Cities Single Parent Group and lives in the neighborhood with her three children (when two are home from college), two dogs, Renoir and DaVinci, and two birds, named Degas as she can’t tell them apart.
