| As an expression of her re-kindled, life-long passion for art, Rebecca recently began painting Dallas landmarks and scenes. She began with the old theatres as her theme. The Lakewood Theatre, the Granada, the Inwood, and the Arcadia and Casa Linda have been the focus of her work the last two years. Dallas landscapes and views are constantly changing. So she paints in a variety of styles to bring remembrance, pleasure, and to stir conversation for viewers. It is her way of contributing to the sense of community.” The subjects of her works are repeated. However perspective, colors, textures, styles and approach to materials vary in each piece. Rebecca received her BS in art education at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene and has taught art in the public schools at each of the different levels for a number of years. Rebecca also participates in various shows and festivals in the Dallas area. |
